Career Tree

in this essay I chose Graphic design, video editor, and artist. I’d work in these areas because they are the easiest to do and they are all an interesting when you think about it. I would like to work in Texas or in Oregon because because what I heard from there is its amazing although I don’t have much experience going up there it would be cool to try something different somewhere else. I’d work near home because I know it very well but it’d be nice to take photos somewhere I have never been.

Graphic Design is a little off the path of photography but it allows you to be more creative. As a video editor you are kind of editing pictures only the pictures are moving. This is a good alternative to photography because you can still shoot for things in real life only you have to shoot it for longer. Finally I would be an artist in the industry which does take a bit more devotion and practice but the end result will be rewarding. Being an artist is the most freedom giving thing in this career industry to make whatever you want.

when it comes to these types of photography there are many responsibilities you have to endure which will make you a reliable person. in photography you have to go with the timing of when the people you are shooting for ask for their images. Editing is vital for photography and doing it will make people appreciate your work even more as possible.

Ted Talk Reflection

I liked his presentation for a number of reasons. One reason is because he explains how to make photos similar to his own. Erik explains in detail how to combine the photos by mixing color tone and saturation and such.

Another reason why I liked his presentation was because he showed his finished products. He gave his examples and I thought they were pretty comical and joyous.

Erik explained how to combine elements in two or more photos and make a realistically fiction photograph. I believe that he explained it well and enjoyed it especially when he showed his pictures.

Indeed Job Search

  1. Portrait Photographer/Sales Associate at the Picture People- This seems like a good place to work but I do not fit all the qualifications because one of the qualifications include being 18 years of ae to apply. This job has decent pay and says in the job description that it is a fun experience. They also have a 5 star rating and are hiring up to 8 people.
  2. Freelance photographer/videographer- The 2 qualifications for this job are at least 1 year of photography experience, and must be authorized to be able to work. This job seems decent if you just need to make a quick buck especially since its freelance photography. The description states you as the photographer must edit your pictures yourself before you sell them and they will not..

  3. Short-Term Worker – Photography- I meet all qualifications but the employer never provided the pay. The website indeed estimated the pay to be around 30,000 to 40,000 dollars which is decent. All responsibilities are photography related  which should make the job totally manageable.

Multiple Exposures with Flash and Slow Shutter Speed

To begin, a solid black background may be best as well as darkening to be able to use the flash. You need to make sure there is enough background area for your multiple takes. Set up in a way so there isn’t too much light on the background. Make sure there aren’t any other lights in the room. Take an exposure then move into position for the next exposure for however many you are going to do. Lots of electric flashes have a max flash duration of 1/800th to a minimum of 1/20000th second. This can allow you to freeze almost any action for an exposure. Its easier to do it inside where there is almost no light than outdoors in the day. If you shoot outdoors during day ghost images may appear which are a blur when one image is recorded. If you shoot a flash at night you need something reflective so some of the light isn’t lost. Open up two or three f-stops so that too much light isn’t absorbed when shooting at night.

DSLR and Camera Lens PPT

  1.   DSLR means digital single lens reflex.
  2.  DSLR Cameras have detachable lenses.
  3.  300 mm lenses are for wildlife photography.
  4.   Any lens less than 35 mm is for landscape or architecture photography.
  5.  Autofocus on a lens lets the camera focus the picture for you.
  6.  ISO is a number that describes the photos sensitivity to light.
  7.  High ISO means the sensor will be more sensitive to light.
  8.  more light means less ISO less light means more ISO.
  9.  Use less ISO to avoid noisy, grainy pictures.
  10.  The shutter speed is how long the shutter stays open.
  11.  High shutter speed can be used for quick action situations.
  12.  The shutter speed should be double the frame rate.
  13.  The tripod can be used when the camera shakes because of a shutter speed slower than its focal length.
  14.  The aperture determines how wide the lens will open.
  15.  Lower aperture numbers provide a larger lens opening.
  16.  fast lens have larger capable apertures.
  17. Larger apertures give shallow depth of field.
  18.  Longer lens may have shallower depth f field because they are magnifying the lenses.
  19.  read a lens by its mount, prime/zoom, series focal lengths, and aperture.
  20.  The numerical value that adjusts how colors look are the Kelvin temperature.
  21.  There are presets that adjust the pictures color.
  22. WB presets auto, cloudy, incandescent,  shade fluorescent, K, direct sunlight, PRE
  23.  White balance makes the whites and gray neutral if done correctly.
  24. Shooting modes – (P)Program, (Tv)Shutter priority, (Av)Aperture priority, (M)Manual, (A-Dep)Automatic depth of field.
  25.  P (camera sets SS and Aperture) Tv (camera chooses aperture) Av (camera chooses SS) M (you set everything) A-Dep (camera chooses aperture, and shutter speed)

Equipment Buying list

The first thing I would buy for my photography business are 3 cameras, Specifically Cannon.  I chose this type because I am more comfortable with cannon cameras and each of them come with different lenses. The next thing I would buy  are 2 tripods for the cameras. 2 Magnus VT-4000 Tripod System with Fluid Head would do fine If I needed to take a photo of a subject without the camera shaking. Then I would buy a Raynox DCR-250 2.5x Super Macro Lens, Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM Lens, and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E . The last things I would get are 5 SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card because something could happen to the other ones. Everything altogether which are 13 things that I would buy from the B&H photo website would cost around $11,984.95. I would use all of this for my company for photography and the rest I would use to buy things for myself or my family.

Photography Profession

Being a photographer would be a good job for a couple of reasons. The first being that you would be able to do it whenever you want wherever you want and would barely have any constraints. The only constraints being the legal department but luckily we are in a country where freedom of press is one of the first things written on our rights as Americans. You could take pictures for news stations about current events or just take photos of things you find interesting like wildlife or geography. Also you wouldn’t have to be on a schedule and can take pictures of things whenever you want or whenever you need. Another reason may be if you need the extra cash and your current job isn’t getting you by. Say you want to go on vacation for a bit and see a lot of things but this vacation isn’t being paid you can still make money by taken some photos of the things you see. Even if the vacation is being paid you can still take photos and make even more money. Its not rare that your job wont pay you enough for a living wage but in the case that it doesn’t you can take some photos and sell them for a few more bucks. Maybe you want to make photography your full time job. Its not bad pay but its kind of difficult to tell anymore because of inflation. Though you can find fields you would like such as landscapes if you like traveling, portraits if you like taking photos of people, or abstract if you like confusing people.

Read and Write Review

  1. Aperture adjusts the exposure of a photo, shutter speed is the speed a shutter opens and closes, and ISO is the cameras sensitivity to light.
  2. Lower values are great when there is plenty of light to work with. Higher ISO values are needed for working in low light.
  3.  In aperture priority the camera will vary the exposure settings depending on the aperture value you set, and shutter priority the camera gives you complete control over shutter speed while making all the other settings automatically.
  4. Af modes have different modes like One-shot AF that stop refocusing once it’s locked onto the subject, Servo AF which won’t lock the focus and it will constantly refocus and AI Autofocus will automatically from one -shot to Servo if it detects movement in the frame.
  5. So it doesn’t come out very bright or dark.
  6. To set white balance manually, according to each lighting situation.
  7.  Depth of field is when a subject or background is purposefully made blurry, shallow depth of field is when the subject is in focus, and good depth of field makes the background and subject as sharp as possible.
  8. there are three of them single shot shoots one frame at a time, continuous low is for portraits and continuous high is for shooting sports.
  9. It’s a scale that will tell your camera to increase or decrease exposure and varies on what you need.
